Infamies of the Soul: A ten-week course covering the treatise by Abdur Rahman al Sulami's (d.412ah) text: Uyūb al Nafs wa Adwiyatuhā (Infamies of the Soul & Their Treatments). The text contains 69 wicked traits or actions along with their treatments such as: preoccupation with the infamies of others, laziness, anger, seeking revenge, seeking leadership, lack of vigilance and more. Please note, the course has already been held and recorded. You will have on-demand access to all ten classes immediately upon registration.

When will the classes be delivered?

The classes were already delivered in June 2024. We are offering this class as an on-demand class.
Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for anyone who has an interest in Islamic spirituality/wayfaring (sulūk).
How are the classes delivered?

The classes are delivered live via Zoom using high quality audio and visuals. The classes are interactive allowing students to ask questions via both audio and the chat box. Moreover, the class will have a dedicated Telegram channel allowing students to engage with the teacher throughout the duration of the course. The class will be delivered in English.
How long is the course for?

We aim to finish the entire text in 10 weeks.

Alomgir Ali

Alomgir Ali is a graduate of Islamic Law (BA) from the University of al Azhar al Sharif (Cairo, Egypt) and also holds a BA in Arabic and English Language. He possesses a number of Ijāzahs (licenses) including for the Qur'ān and has authored and translated a number of books including "Meadows of the Divine: 40 Ḥadīth on the Virtues and Rulings of the Qur'ān" published by Fig Tree Publications. He has been teaching Arabic and Islamic disciplines for nearly 20 years in various educational institutions and has worked as an Imām in London and has delivered sermons and lectures in the UK and Europe. He set up Tawfiq Online Learning, an online learning platform in 2019, where he currently teaches .

Alhamdulillah, I am so grateful that I was able to follow Ustadh in the study of this text as I had wanted to purchase it before but was hesitant to take it on without guidance from someone learned. I have benefitted greatly from following the careful explanations and details provided in this course. Many points and translations need delving into carefully to fully understand the lesson/context of each chapter and Ustadh delivered these with care and patience. I highly recommend everyone to read this text and study this course as it is very eye-opening and gives one the chance to reflect on one's own internal state in quite a harsh but necessary way. Attending live is always best as Ustadh answers questions and clarifies things there and then. Jazaakallahu khairan Ustadh.
