About the Text

Zād al-Mustaqniʿ, authored by Imām Mūsā al-Ḥajjāwī (d. 968H), is a concise abridgment of Ibn Qudāmah’s al-Muqniʿ. This work has been widely accepted by Ḥanbalī scholars, to the extent that some have remarked that mastering its memorization and comprehension qualifies one to serve as a judge. This text is particularly suited for students who have already studied an introductory work in Ḥanbalī fiqh and are seeking to build upon their foundational knowledge.

Aims & Objectives

The objective is to complete the entire text, by the will of Allāh ﷻ. This term, we will resume from Kitāb al Nikāḥ (The Book of Marriage). The course is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of the legal rulings (masāʾil) in fiqh according to the Ḥanbalī school. Through this study, students will establish a strong foundation, enabling them to develop a deeper appreciation of the principles and philosophy of Islamic law. New students are warmly welcome to join!
